Rachel is currently teaching part time at NAPCA of course, and the owner of Madeleine and the Traveling Bakeshop.

Description

In this class, Pastry Chef Rachel Cuzzone will walk you down memory lane with all your childhood favorites you wish could make. Learn a few different baking techniques in this comprehensive class in American iconic sweets.

About Chef Rachel:

A graduate with two associate’s degrees in Culinary Arts and Baking and Pastry Arts from College of Dupage’s Culinary Arts Program, she served as the vice president for the College’s Culinary and Hospitality Club and worked as a student assistant in the Baking and Pastry Department.

In 2013, Cuzzone received a $5,000 scholarship from the Chicago Chapter of Les Dames d’Escoffier International. She was the first COD student to receive this award and one of only seven women in the Chicago area to do so.

Cuzzone stayed at COD as part of the 3+1 program with Roosevelt University and earned her bachelor’s degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management from Roosevelt. Chef Rachel spent two seasons working as part of the kitchen team during the Chicago Bears home games as well as other on-site events.

In 2015, she assisted the United States Pastry Olympic team for the Coupe du Monde (World Pastry Cup) in Lyon, France. The team took third place, the first time in 10 years that the U.S. was on the podium. She is currently teaching part time at NAPCA of course, and the owner of Madeleine and the Traveling Bakeshop.

What To Expect: Hands On Class Baking

Our professional Chef will teach you the proper techniques to elevate your baking. You will work in groups with other guests in a fun, hands-on environment led by our professional chef instructors.

  • Work from a recipe that was created for each specific class
  • Work side-by-side with other students to prepare each dish from start to finish
  • Classes are roughly 3 hours, unless otherwise noted above, and each student will enjoy a full meal of what you created in class!
  • Cooking classes are conducted in our state of the art Blue Star outfitted demonstration kitchen and each class is led by an experienced chef instructor
  • Students receive a 10% to shop before or after class
