Knife basics will cover everything from, sharpening versus honing, mincing versus rough chop. What does it all mean? After taking this class, you’ll feel like a Chef. We will cover the basics (and not so basics) of knife care, sharpening, honing and the various cuts you will come across in a typical recipe. Our Chef will make dinner after you cut up all the ingredients!

We consider this the most important cooking class we offer. If you are looking for the best place to start or a perfect gift to give, this is it.

Our Chef Instructor will start from the beginning: the best knife for everyday use. After that we will start cutting all the things.

At the end of the fun and informative class you will know the different between sharpening and honing, mincing versus rough chop. The basics (and not so basics) of knife care, and the various cuts you will come across in a typical recipe (even some obscure cuts so you can show off just a little) .

Our Chef and kitchen staff will make dinner so we can have a Q&A while we eat a well deserved meal, prepped with care!


What To Expect: Hands On Class

Our professional Chef’s with years of experience will teach you the proper  techniques for elevating your cooking. You will work in groups with other guests in a fun, hands-on environment led by our professional chef instructors.

Work from a recipe that was created for each specific class
Work side-by-side with other students to prepare each dish from start to finish
Classes are roughly 2 1/2 hours, unless otherwise noted above, and each student will enjoy a full meal of what you created in class!
Cooking classes are conducted in our state of the art Blue Star outfitted demonstration kitchen and each class is led by an experienced chef instructor
Students receive a 10% to shop before or after class
